Dr Mike Thompson, married to Nikki, is a Research Associate and Adjunct lecturer in American History at the University of Sydney’s US Studies Centre, specialising in the areas of US foreign relations and US religious and intellectual history. He has several years’ experience lecturing in American History at many Australian tertiary institutions including the University of New South Wales, the University of Sydney and Monash University. His book For God and Globe: Christian Internationalism in the United States between the Great War and the Cold War was published in Cornell University Press’ “US in the world” series in 2015. In 2015 Mike started as a full time student at Sydney Missionary & Bible College (SMBC), taking a Masters of Divinity, and is training for pastoral ministry as well as possible future roles in teaching theology and history in theological education settings.
